Black & White imageDecember 1988. Image shows children learning computer skills at the Chapeltown and Harehills Assisted Learning Computer School (CHALCS) based at Technorth, number 9 Harrogate Road. The project was funded by Task Force and took place outside school hours, on weekends and during the summer and Easter school holidays. The learning was geared to suit children from the age of eight upwards.

CHALCS stands for the Chapeltown and Harehills Assisted Learning Computer School found by Mr. B.T. Braimah. Based at Technorth in Harrogate Road, it aimed to give children tuition in computing and new techology in school holidays and at weekends.
