The building is derelict and due to be demolished shortly. This teetotal establishment started out as the British Workman Memorial Hall in the late 1800s and continued with this name until around the 1960s.

On the left is a sign for the Nags Head public house which is just off the picture. The Chapel Allerton Methodist Church can be seen ahead, while on the right of Well Lane, by the junction with Hawthorn Road, is the Chapel Allerton Social Institute; both of these buildings were derelict at the time. On the far right is the edge of the Methodist Youth and Community Centre in the former Sunday School building.
