In the foreground there are rows of accumulator trolleys ( battery carrying trolleys which were used to start up aircraft). This is another aspect of the wide range of war work undertaken by the firm during the Second World War. 14,826 of thes trolleys were manufactured and turned out here between 1939 and 1945.
