Black & White image27th October 1909. Taken during the Hope Street improvements showing Bridge Street and its junctions with Trafalgar Street, Gower Street, Nile Street and others. On the corner of Trafalgar Street on the left hand side is Benjamin Black's chemist, and on the corner of Nile Street is Joshua Cohen butchers. On Gower Street the council school is visible. In the foreground are some wooden sheds possibly used by workmen during the improvements.

Black & White image11th May 1927 The Lord Mayor, Alderman Hugh Lupton admires the cakes on show at the Leeds Technical College Bakery Department Exhibition. A royal iced cake on a silver cake stand is displayed in the centre of the table. The Lord Mayor turns his attention to a novelty iced cake which appears to be in the form of a basket of chocolates. A notice on the wall informs that 'all the show stands and trays used are supplied by the United Yeast Company Limited'. This company was located at 70 Wellington Street and 15 to 19 Queen Street. A large silver trophy is also displayed on the table.

Black & White image11th May 1927 The Lord Mayor, Alderman Hugh Lupton attends the opening of Leeds Technical College Bakery Department Exhibition. A lavish spread is set out on the white tablecloth demonstrating a huge variety of baking techniques. There are cakes, large and small, pastries and pies, biscuits and slices all tastefully arranged and proudly displayed for the occasion.
