Black & White imageUndated. view of the Bay Horse Inn located in Main Street. Although the inn has existed for many years here it, did not alway extend as far as the corner. The corner was once occupied by an adjoining inn called the Greyhound Inn. Images of the Greyhound can be seen on the Leodis website.

Black & White imageUndated. Many people can be seen in the Main Street standing within groups. A group of children at the left hand side, are of various ages and wear late nineteenth/early twentieth century clothing. Behind them is the Bay Horse Inn, at this time run by Landlord Martin Kelly. Also at this time there was the Greyhound Inn, adjoining the Bay Horse to the right, where the Landlady was Emma Mary Wrightson.

Immediately adjacent is the Greyhound Inn, run by Emma Mary Wrightson, a licensed retailer of ale,porter and tobacco. She may be the lady in the late Victorian dress standing in the doorway. The site of the Bay Horse Inn now fully extends to this corner where the Greyhound Inn once stood.
