Byron Street, no.91, Grice's Pickle Works (Leylands)
Black & White image24th February 1933. The photo is taken on the lower end of Byron Street, and shows the partially demolished premises of Grice's Pickle Works, on the NE side of Byron Street. A man is pictured in the left foreground measuring the height of the remaining outer wall. Car parked in far right of the photo. The name of the business is visible on the sign above the man. Mill buildings from Byron Street Mills and the Hope Foundry clearly visible in the background. Telegraph pole and gas lamp visible far-right. The picture faces towards Millwright Street.

Colour image29th October 1999. Entrance to what was the Hope Foundry, Iron and Brass Foundry of Fairbairn/Lawson. The entrance is in the Greek revival style, ornamented with key pattern and lion masks and shows 'Hope Foundry' in raised lettering. Built between 1812 and 1850, a grade II listed building.

Set up by Joseph Rhodes in the 1850s, Hope foundary played a vital role in the textile industry in Morley, providing machinery and waterstorage tanks for the mills.
