Black & White imageUndated, On the right of the image is a warehouse building on Hanover Lane housing a variety of businesses including R.A. Hanson & Co on the left and on the right J. Blakely & Co Ltd, stationary, printing and typewriters. The large building visible behind this is Joseph's Well, once a huge clothing factory closed in the 1960s and later redeveloped into offices for multiple businesses.

Inner Ring Road, construction of Westgate Tunnel. (City Centre)
Colour imageAutumn 1973. Image shows Westgate Tunnel, part of Stage 3 of the Inner Ring Road under construction. At the top left is John Barran & Sons Ltd., clothing manufacturers in Chorley Lane which later became Joseph's Well. In front of it is Benjamin Simon & Sons Ltd., wholesale clothing manufacturers at 72 Park Lane. On the right is another clothing factory called Marlbeck House and adjacent is Centaur. This section of the Inner Ring Road was completed in 1975 with Westgate Tunnel opening in the February of 1974.

Joseph's Well (Little Woodhouse)

Once a huge clothing factory, it closed in the 1960s and was later redeveloped into offices for multiple business use. In the foreground are small buildings, some in a rundown state, these were later demolished.
