Bridge End / Dock Street, former Simpsons Fold Warehouses. (City Centre) (2 comments)
Colour image6th October 1999. These old Simpsons Fold Warehouses are located South of the River Aire near Leeds Bridge. They belonged to the Aire & Calder Navigation Canal Offices at Bridge End at the corner with Dock Street. The warehouses date from the 1770s and were built on garden land owned by William Milner (1662-1740), a woollen merchant and Mayor of Leeds in 1697/98. The warehouses are now converted to luxury apartments and are addressed as number 1 Dock street.

Cariss Row, no 2 - 12, Milner Grove no 14 (Hunslet) (2 comments)
Black & White image29th April 1964, Looking from Milner Grove across to Cariss Row. On the left edge Joseph Street can just be seen. Cariss Row began on the left with number 12 and numbers ran to 2 on the right. These were through houses with entrances on Cariss Terrace, numbering from 1 - 9. The shop in view was 14 Milner Grove and was not included in the Cariss Terrace numbering 2 Cariss Row corresponded with the shop. It was a grocers, business of E. Hewson.

Black & White image27th April 1964, To the left is Cariss Street, number 54 is on the left edge , 52 has a pram outside. The shop at 50 is a greengrocers with a window onto Milner Grove. Moving right are 6 then 4 on the right edge. The parked car has a damaged front.
