Black & White image18th February 1980. View of Domestic Street showing the junction with Pleasant Place in the centre. Terraced housing on Pleasant Place can be seen with Capel's Bakers at the end of the row at no. 69 Domestic Street, with advertising hoardings covering the upper storey walls. Next to this is Joe's Cafe at no. 71, then the junction with Pleasant Terrace. On the left is an area of wasteland where more terraced housing has been demolished on Pleasant Place and Pleasant View. The tower block of Meynell Heights can be seen in the background.

Jenkinson Lawn, high-rise flats (Holbeck)
Colour image2010. View from Jenkinson Lawn looking towards two blocks of flats known as Holbeck Towers, which face out onto Holbeck Moor Road. The block in the centre comprises flats numbered 122-181 then further right is a block comprising nos.1-61. A third block, containing on the far right is another block of flats, Meynell Heights. All flats were due to be demolished shortly after the time of this photo, which dates from Spring 2010.

Several blocks of high-rise flats can be seen : on the left are Gaitstkell Grange and two blocks of Holbeck Towers, which face out onto Holbeck Moor Road, while behind the club on the right is Meynell Heights. All the flats would shortly be demolished as part of a regeneration scheme for the area.

King's Arms, Balm Walk (Holbeck)

The pub closed in Summer 2008 and at the time of the photo in Summer 2010 is boarded up and for sale. The building which dates from the mid 19th century is now Grade II listed. On the left of the image, partially obscured by a tree, is Meynell Heights, a block of high-rise flats.
