Image shows the construction of the retaining wall for the watercourse, which is now a beck (Mill Green Goit), the lower stretch of Hol Beck. On the left workmen can be seen with tools. The Hol Beck is a tributary of the River Aire, the confluence of water is at the canal basin, Victoria Bridge. Water Lane was built alongside the line of the beck.
