A wintry scene on Spen Lane showing the Hark To Rover public house, closed down and boarded up. Formerly a parade of shops, it opened up as a pub in 1963. The junction with Ghyll Road is just opposite. On the extreme right is Norman Towers, a multi-storey block of flats.

View shows a pub sign for the Hark to Rover public house on Spen Lane, which is itself just off the picture. On the left is a recently built detached house on the corner of Spen Lane and Spen Approach. In the background are the multi-storey flats of Norman Towers.
