The junction with Rookwood Avenue is on the right, followed by the Little Chef restaurant and petrol filling station, and behind these blocks of high-rise flats. More housing can be seen on the left. The road is busy with traffic.

Colour imageJune 2008. View of the Shaftesbury Hotel at the junction of York Road and Harehills Lane, as seen from Rookwood Avenue. Osmondthorpe Lane runs across from centre left to join York Road. The Shaftesbury, built on the site of the former St. Alban's vicarage, was shortly to be demolished with work having already started on removal of the roof.
