Photo taken in the early to mid 1950s, to the left is Buslingthorpe Lane and the entrance into the Springwell Works. This massive factory had been built as the Springwell Leather Works. The houses in view had numbered frontages on Buslingthorpe Lane, this was the back doors. As they were built into the mill yard it was possible they were originally for foremen and others running the works.
