The trees on the left are in the grounds of St. Joseph's Nursing and Convalescents Home, accessed from Outwood Lane. Behind the cars travelling towards Leeds is the junction with Oliver Hill where there is a small housing estate.

The entrance to St. Joseph's is on Outwood Lane. The stone properties right of centre are at the junction with Throstle Nest View and 1 and 3. Throstle Nest View leads to Newlay Wood Drive and Newlay Wood Crescent.
