It was taken from the footpath that runs from Daisy Hill down to the gravel-pathed woodland area immediately behind the White Rose Centre car parks. These are sited approximately 500 yards away behind the camera.

Colour image1973. Image taken from Elland Road Place, looking towards Middleton. Elland Road Place was off Elland Road opppsite School Street. The trees in the background are on the site of the old Fever Hospital. Beyond this were the sewage works, located behind the Woodman Inn on Dewsbury Road. The site of the sewage works is now the White Rose Centre.

Black & White imageC1904. The Morley Sewerage Disposal Works seen here opened on 3rd June 1901. It was the aim of Morley Council to eventually make all dry privies obsolete and fully introduce individual water closets. The Borough Engineer, Mr. W.E. Putman, devised the sewage disposal works were constructed at the rear of the Woodman Inn on Dewsbury Road. This is now the site of the White Rose Shopping Centre.
