Black & White image11th January 1980. View of Harewood Street showing the Central Car Park. As well as many cars, there are several motorbikes parked on the right, with one motorbike rider just leaving. In the centre is an old electricity sub-station with a warehouse behind. In the background, left, is part of a row of buildings on Union Street which face onto Eastgate; these have recently been demolished to make way for the new Victoria Gate development. Visible in the background on the right is Millgarth Police Station, also recently demolished.

Black & White image15th August 1935. Harrogate Road at the junction with Short Lane. Here is a row of stone built shops with slate roofs. On the corner is W.Barker, Family grocers, Est 1844. Next is J.E.Bolton, Hairdresser. In the window of this shop there are advertisments for St.Bruno and Redbreast Flake, pipe tobaccos. A gas streetlamp stands on the pavement and a trademans bike leans against the wall.

At the end of the yard Jack Heaps, commission agent and Lazarus Freeman, tailor can be identified. A gas lamp is by the wall and in the foreground is a motorbike. Over the wall is Atkinson Court. At the end of the court is Taylor & Co, tailors.
