Black & White image15th November 1968. Showing Back Queen Square, just off Woodhouse Lane. The path is under construction, as is the road. Paving slabs are leant up against the wall. Two oil drums and some wooden planks are visible. There is a large tree behind a badly damaged wall. More trees are in the background.

Bond Street Centre, building site (City Centre)
Black & White image1970s. View shows the site of what was to become the Bond Street Centre (later Leeds Shopping Plaza), after the demolition of previous buildings in the area but before work had got far underway on the shopping centre, which was built in the mid 1970s. The view looks across to Boar Lane with the Griffin Hotel visible towards the right.

Black & White image1970s. View shows the building site on which the Bond Street Shopping Centre (now Leeds Shopping Plaza) was due to be built. Work started in 1974 and the centre was opened in September 1977. The scheme, which replaced many 19th century buildings, was by John Brunton & Partners. The site backs on to the tall tower of Royal Exchange House on City Square; also visible in the background are the Queen's Hotel (left) and the General Post Office (towards the right).

Brooklands Lane, construction site (Seacroft) (14 comments)
Black & White image17th October 1951. iew of the construction of Brooklands Lane on the Seacroft Estate. (Previously described as unknown road but identified by comments - see enlarged view of photograph). On the left, the semi-detached houses are complete. On the right the houses are only half built and are surrounded by scaffolding. An oil drum, lamp post, cement mixer and a pile of bricks are on the road. Some people are visible to the left.
