Black & White imageUndated. View shows St. Mary's Church Hall situated on Church Lane. This was a venue for diverse activities including dancing, keep-fit and drama. The building was destroyed by fire in June 1995 and has since become the site of dwelling houses. The view looks from the junction with Church Approach.

Colour image25th July 1990. Colour photograph showing St. Edward's Church Hall on Colenso Mount. Built about 1904 it is a red brick building with stone dressings and a large steeply pitched tiled roofs. It has two gables at the front and two large mullion and transom windows. Unoccupied at the time of the picture it had been a community centre since the demolition of the church.

After the demolition of the church the building was used as a community centre but at the time of the picture stands empty. Brick walls enclose the grounds, which are covered in snow.
