Bramley Carnival, fairground (Bramley)
Black & White imageUndated. View shows fairground swings at a Bramley carnival sometime around the late 19th or early 20th century. The carnival was a regular event at the time, having first been held officially in 1892, and continued to be an important date in the town's calendar until around 1952. It was then abandoned for some time before being resurrected in 1976.

Miller's Carousel, Roundhay Park (Roundhay) (4 comments)
Black & White image1967 This image shows a small childrens carousel located near the Waterloo lake side car park at Roundhay Park. Run by the Miller family the ride consists of scaled down vehicles for children including a fire engine, a train, a motorcycle and two buses with notices reading 'Do Not Alight Until Bus Stops' on the rear and Miller's Tours, on the front. A sign shows the fare to be 6D, the year 2003 equivalent would be 2.5p. The fairground was removed in the late 1990s.
