Bean Ing Mills, Wellington Street (City Centre) (2 comments)
8th October 1948. View shows the premises of Joshua Wilson and Sons Ltd., worsted coating manufacturers, at Bean Ing Mills on Wellington Street. Benjamin Gott's Bean Ing Mill was the first factory to produce woollen goods and was built over a period of 40 years. The Wellington Street frontage was added around 1829. It was all demolished in the 1960s and the site was used for the new Yorkshire Post Newspapers building.
