Situated off Bridge Street, between Nile Street and Trafalgar Street, area of dense housing. An open gutter can be seen in the yard illustrating the insanitary conditions which led to this area being classed as 'unhealthy'. Many of the residents in the Leylands area were of Jewish origin, large numbers worked in the tailoring shops.

On the far left of the image is the side entrance to number 3 Czar Place. In the centre of the image on Bridge Court is a small run down structure once built to house a shared outside toilet block and midden. On the right can be seen the entrance to Czarina Place.
