Just visible on the right is the Leek and Westbourne Building Society at no.48 Albion Street. Over the road from this is a new development offering prestige offices and shops to be let. This was to be the site of West Riding House. Further along Bond Street on the the left hand side is the business of Firth Gibbs & Partners, auctioneers and estate agents.

Black & White image19th March 1984. View of Commercial Street showing former warehouse buildings of Morley Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd. The chimney in the centre provided heating for the whole Co-op complex which extended from Commercial Street along Albion Street all the way to Queen Street, buildings having been added at various times over the years since the first Co-op buildings, at the corner of Commerical Street and Albion Street, were constructed in 1869. On the right is the side of Morley Library.

Just visible on the right is the edge of the Baptist Church while in the background on the left is the Sunday School building of St. Mary's-in-the-Wood United Reformed Church, partly occupied at the time by Wakefield Tutorial Preparatory School. This is a listed building dating from 1898-1900.
