View of the garden of Cookridge Tower, a nineteenth century residence situated off Hospital Lane near Otley Old Road. At this time the house was owned by the Sykes family. Alfred Wilberforce Sykes, born in c1833, was a woollen and worsted manufacturer and merchant of the firm Hudson, Sykes and Bousfield of 19 Wellington Street, Leeds and Low Hall Place. A bearded gentleman, wearing a hat, can be seen, possibly one of the gardeners.
