Black & White imagec1937-38 View of Cranberry Street from the junction with York Road. On the corner is no.21 York Road, Joseph Curotto, confectioner. Next to this, the former premises of Johnson's boot and shoe dealers has been vocated. This area was shortly to be demolished as part of the slum clearances. On the far right is Wheat Street. Advertising hoardings can be seen on the walls, including ones for Sunlight Flakes washing powder and the Regent and Hillcrest cinemas.
