| Whitehall Road at the junction with Gildersome Lane (Farnley) (5 comments) |
 | Late 1952.
In this image a Pickford's vehicle carries a heavy load over the junction of Whitehall Road and Gildersome Lane. This is the location of the bus terminus at New Farnley. (The number 31LCT bus terminated here). The large turning circle was formerly used by the Leeds trolley-bus service. The Gildersome/New Farnley boundary is about 600 yards behind the photographer. The mock Tudor building in the background, left, is The Woodcock public house. [internal reference; 4681:CLIV Roads 23] |
