Image shows a street party in Cross Gates to celebrate VE day. A stamp on the photograph in the right hand corner reads 'VE Day+1. MAY 9th 1945. HAWKHILL DRIVE'. It is worth to noting that the crowd standing round the table are mostly female. The male residents would have been serving in the armed forces.
