Run by George Ledsford, a quality meat purveyor selling beef, lamb, pork and poultry, Mr Ledsford has the motto 'Walk in please, walk out pleased!' written above the door. Visible on the far left at number 4 Alexandra Road is a Dutton's off licence at the corner with Alexandra Crescent.

Black & White image2nd April 1959 Number 6 Apsley Street is on the left of this view followed to the right by numbers 4 and 2 which were part of the Park Hotel, a Melbourne Ales owned pub at number 82 Hyde Park Road. The lower half of the building is tiled. Included in redevelopment plans for the Burley area.

Behind this can be seen the side of Andrew Commercial Hotel at no.130. A police car is turning the corner and there is a zebra crossing in the foreground.

The building in the centre is numbered 105-107 Westfield Road. Behind this to the right are the premises of Wilkinson Bros. Ltd., house furnishers, of 13-15 Hyde Park Road. The view then looks over rooftops of terraced housing on Burley Lodge Road, Burley Lodge Terrace and Burley Road.

On the left hand side of the road is a sign for Billiard Rooms and another for National Insurance Dispensing. On the pavement is a child in a pram and a three wheeled bicycle by the road side. On the right are traffic lights outside the Hyde Park Hotel. Next is a parade of shops which consists of A W Bottomly, draper; C W Hardy, sells fruit, veg, game and poultry; taxi cabs office; Boots the chemist; Scarrs hardware merchants; G Crawshaw, chemist; H Spurr, stationer; then across Regents Park Avenue is Midland Bank.
