Black & White image28th April 1937. Showing the covering-in of Lady Beck and the construction method used, note the use of the wooden arch template. At the centre is a concrete mixer and slide. To the right of the site is the Lloyds Arms public house and, to the left, The United Yeast Co. Ltd. buildings (yeast merchants, Union House). At this point Lady Beck flows under York Street and then crosses beneath the London & North Eastern railway line, following the line of Duke Street before emerging at the other side of Marsh Lane as Timble Beck.

Dyer Street beck covering (City Centre)
Black & White image2nd May 1935. Construction of beck covering over Lady Beck between Dyer Street and Eastgate. The beck runs in a stone channel with walkways on either side. A timber structure has been built over the beck. Workmen's tools, a ladder and a large metal container can be seen in the picture.
