Leeds Technical College, Bakery Department Exhibition, Gower Street (Leylands) (1 comment)
Black & White image11th May 1927 The Lord Mayor, Alderman Hugh Lupton admires the cakes on show at the Leeds Technical College Bakery Department Exhibition. A royal iced cake on a silver cake stand is displayed in the centre of the table. The Lord Mayor turns his attention to a novelty iced cake which appears to be in the form of a basket of chocolates. A notice on the wall informs that 'all the show stands and trays used are supplied by the United Yeast Company Limited'. This company was located at 70 Wellington Street and 15 to 19 Queen Street. A large silver trophy is also displayed on the table.
