To the right of the Civic Hall is Leeds Metropolitan University and above slightly to the right is the Leeds General Infirmary. In the foreground towards the left is the tailoring manufacturer's, Hepworths Ltd. on Claypit Lane. Above the tree lined Queen Square is visible. Merrion Centre is to the left edge and the railway station is visible at the top.

Some men are standing on the pavement, and further along there is a bulldozer on the road. An office block is in the distance.
