Scott Hall Farm (Potternewton)
Black & White imageUndated Photo possibly dating from the early 1900s. The farm was situated off Potternewton Lane, near Newton Lodge, it was part of the Earl of Mexborough's estate. The area is now a sports field. In the background of this view is a threshing machine being run by a steam engine. A Daimler lorry is in the centre, a hay stack on the right. A large number of filled sacks are between the lorry and the stack, the name 'Canon' is on them.

Scott Hall Farm (Potternewton) (1 comment)
Black & White imageUndated, Scott Hall Farm, situated off Potternewton Lane, the area is now a sports field at the junction with Scott Hall Road. This photo, probably from around the 1900s shows threshing underway on the farm. Female operatives in protective clothing are standing on the thresher, with several male workers. On the right is a steam engine, the Leeds firm of Fowler manufactured the steam driven ploughing machine which could be adapted for threshing as here or a variety of uses.
