Black & White image20th May 1939. View showing the Corner House Cinema on the junction of Harrogate Road and Street Lane. The cinema, which included a squash court, club, dancing and cafe opened on November 28th 1938 but closed on January 6th 1940. Playbill for Sorrell and son and Pygmalion can be seen outside entrance.

Black & White image7th July 1931. This view at the junction of Harrogate Road and Street Lane shows on the left, a house, possibly the end of a terrace behind a high hedge. There are some people on the pavement including a man in the uniform of a transport company. A large mature tree overshadows the corner. Two sets of tram lines are seen on the road. In the right background is a stone wall behind which are more trees.
