Image shows some of the Tingley Methodist members involved in the opening of Tingley Methodist Sunday School in Westerton Road. The sod cutting ceremony took place on the very cold and wintry Easter Monday of 1908. Those who took part were issued with a certificate to commemorate the occasion. Most of them are women who have brought along their garden spades and are wearing mens' flat cloth caps. Photograph from the David Atkinson Archive. [internal reference; 20071211_165611:WA0675-BW] |
