The image shows West End boating stage on the River Wharfe. Punts, rowing boats and Canadian style skiffs were offered for hire by Tom Richmond. Boating on the river was a popular day out for Leeds people who made the journey here by bus. The young man seated on the right wearing a cloth cap was Jim Kitchen, a local boy.
