West Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre, 4 Town Street, Stanningley (Stanningley)
Colour image2000/2001 View of West Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre, a community special school located at number 4 Town Street. It caters for around 140 pupils, including 40 sixth form places. Children and young people attending are aged between 2 and 19 years. The school operated on a split site, the milestone site, seen here, addressing the need of pupils with more complex learning difficulties and also housing the 6th form. Children with moderate learning difficulties were taught at the Victoria Park site, 3 miles away, situated in the grounds of Farnley Park High Schools in temporary accommodation. Some of the children here had emotional, behaviourial or social needs. This site was due to close in the summer of 2010 and an alternative site was to be found.
