Can You Help?, group of local children (Unknown) (9 comments)
Black & White image1969 This group of girls and boys, with their bicycles, are posing for the camera with attitude. They are believed to have just returned from Kirkstall swimming baths on Kirkstall Road, which was close by. We originally believed the location to be Wolseley Road in Burley but there is now some doubt about this. We would be happy to hear from anyone with any other suggestions.

Kirkstall Road, Rising Sun (Burley) (3 comments)
Colour image1st January 2010. View of the Rising Sun public house on Kirkstall Road, shown here closed down and boarded up. Wolseley Road is to the left. Built in late Victorian times, the Rising Sun's interior had remained largely unaltered and it was named a Joshua Tetley Heritage Inn, as well as being included on CAMRA's National Inventory of historic pub interiors. It is also a Grade II listed building, but at the time of writing (2010) its future is uncertain.
