Broadgate Lane (Horsforth) (4 comments)
17th June 1942. Photograph shows temporary council housing, known as prefabs, built during the 2nd World War as emergency housing. They became dis-used and no longer required in the early 1960s. These single storey prefabs were located midway on Broadgate Lane, near to the junctions with Wood Lane and Broadgate Avenue. Later, they were replaced with semi-detached housing.

Undated. View from the rear left corner of number 15 Cottingley Gardens over Beeston. Washing is hanging on the line and a train is passing by in the distance. The houses seen are prefabs, built as an answer to the housing shortage after World War II.
